This park sits to the east of McCormick Park with trails connecting to the Villages of Bear Creek Park further along. By the playground are picnic areas and a gazebo. More unique features of this park include a historic tree grove, outdoor classroom, species trail (with markers denoting the species of the trees along the trail), and bird watching area. There are also two ponds within this park with one containing a fishing pier and boardwalk.
The Preserve at McCormick Park is a nature preserve that was designed and created strictly by children. The Kids Design Council, consisted of 75 children of various ages in Euless schools, gave input about features they wanted in a park during after-school brainstorming sessions.
Construction of this park was completed in the fall of 2005 after the Kids Design Council had been convened to determine the park's content. The land for the park was deeded in December 2004 by Terry Sandlin Homes, Inc. with the city paying a small portion of the land's estimated worth. The rest considered a donation for the benefit of the citizens of Euless.
Come out and see the history and natural resources of this great park.
